Without America for now: France is ready to share intelligence with Ukraine instead of the US
French Defence Minister Sébastien Le Coronneu has said that Paris will provide Ukraine with its intelligence, regardless of the position of the United States. He said this during an interview on France Inter radio on Thursday morning.
Here's What We Know
"Our intelligence is sovereign with our own capabilities. We are passing it on to the Ukrainians," the minister said, without disclosing details.
His statement came after reports that the US had suspended intelligence sharing with Ukraine. This intelligence was used to strike deep into Russia with precision weapons, as well as to target strategic targets in Russia.
Subsequently, US National Security Advisor Mike Volz said that Washington had set the start of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia as a condition for the resumption of data sharing. He noted that the US side is "reviewing all aspects of this relationship" and discussing a possible format for negotiations.
US intelligence plays a key role in planning the actions of the Ukrainian Defence Forces, particularly in the occupied territories and in the Russian border regions.
