HTC unveils Wildfire E5 Plus budget smartphone for Southeast Asian markets
Taiwanese company HTC has presented a new budget smartphone - HTC Wildfire E5 Plus, which is aimed at the markets of Southeast Asia, in particular Vietnam and Thailand.

The HTC Wildfire E5 Plus features a large 6.745-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The screen has a 16-megapixel front camera notch. The main camera consists of a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor for bokeh.
Internal specs include a 1.6GHz Unisoc T606 processor, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card.
The smartphone runs on Android 14 and has a 5000 mAh battery that provides a long operating time. For security, there are two biometric features: face recognition and a fingerprint sensor. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Price and availability
The HTC Wildfire E5 Plus will be available in grey and blue colours for VND2,379,000 (~$93) in Vietnam. The device is also expected to be available in Thailand at the end of this month.
