Apple postpones Apple Smart Home Hub launch due to Siri delay - Bloomberg

Apple has decided to postpone the launch of its Apple Smart Home Hub due to a delay in the introduction of new features for Siri, Bloomberg journalist Mark Herman reports.
Here's What We Know
According to him, the company initially planned to announce the device in March, but due to the hub's dependence on the updated Siri, the deadline was postponed.
Herman also noted that Apple has allowed several employees to test the previous version of the device at home. This decision was made after the company announced that it needed more time to complete the personalised version of Siri, which was presented at WWDC 2024.
The new Siri features are expected to be powered by Apple Intelligence technology and will require an iPhone 15 Pro or later. The update will allow Siri to better take into account personal preferences of users and perform tasks in applications, taking into account the context.
These features were originally planned to be available in iOS 18.4, but Herman indicates that they may not be available until iOS 18.5 or even later, closer to iOS 19 in autumn 2025.
Design and release date
According to Herman, the Apple Smart Home Hub will resemble a compact iPad with a screen and will allow users to control home appliances, make video calls, and perform other functions. The device will also be equipped with the A18 chip.
Due to delays in Siri updates, the launch of Apple Smart Home Hub is likely to take place only next year.
