Sci-fi film Mickey 17 with Robert Pattinson earned $53 million in its first week, but it's still far from breaking even

Mickey 17, a sci-fi comedy starring Robert Pattinson, debuted at number one at the US box office, earning $19.1 million in its opening weekend. However, given its whopping $118 million budget, the film is still far from profitable.
Here's What We Know
Although Mickey 17 started with good results, critics and audiences were divided in their assessments. The film received a "B" on CinemaScore and 79% on Rotten Tomatoes, which may not result in the highest box office over the long term. In order to break even, Mickey 17 needs to earn around $275-$300 million at the global box office.
Internationally, Mickey 17 has earned $25.4 million from 66 territories, bringing its total to $53.3 million.
Mickey 17 is the new film from director Pong Joon-ho, best known for Parasites, which was the first foreign film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture. In the new film, Pattinson plays several versions of the same character - a recovery worker who goes to colonise the ice world of Niflheim and is constantly dying.
