Samsung is taking active steps to bring its Exynos processors back to its flagship smartphone lineup. After the Galaxy S25 series completely switched to Snapdragon 8 Elite chipsets due to production issues with the Exynos 2500, the company is focusing more seriously on developing the new Exynos 2600 processor.

Here's What We Know

The Exynos 2600 will be based on Samsung Foundry's 2nm process technology, which is already showing higher performance and yield ratio compared to the previous generation.

Samsung has reportedly set up a special working group to optimise the performance of the Exynos 2600 and improve the 2nm process. If the efforts are successful, the company will be able to use the Exynos 2600 in the Galaxy S26 series, which will reduce dependence on Qualcomm, cut costs and increase the company's profits. In addition, the process improvement could attract third-party customers such as AMD and Nvidia, which would strengthen Samsung Foundry's position in the market.

However, the question remains as to how users will perceive the return of Exynos, given past performance issues. Samsung sees this project as a last chance to revive the Exynos lineup and regain customer confidence.
