Galaxy A55 received an update in Europe: new security patch
Samsung has released a new software update for the Galaxy A55 that brings the March 2025 security patch to the device. Although the update itself doesn't add any new features, it could be a preview of the One UI 7 (Android 15) beta.
Here's What We Know
Samsung recently announced the list of devices that will receive the One UI 7 beta this month, including the Galaxy Fold 6 and Galaxy Flip 6. These models were updated with the March 2025 security patch just one day before the beta started. A similar situation may happen with the Galaxy A55, but the probability is somewhat lower.
The update for the Galaxy Fold 6 and Flip 6 was released in South Korea, where the One UI 7 beta is available, while the update for the Galaxy A55 is being distributed in Europe, where Samsung has no plans to release a beta for these devices.
The official release of One UI 7 is scheduled for early April, but there is not much time left for a smooth launch. It is possible that only the Galaxy S24 series will receive the update first, and other owners of other smartphones will have to wait a little longer.
How To Switch It On
You can download the security update for March 2025 (build number A556BXXS6AYB4) via the Settings menu, Software Update.
Recently, it was reported that Samsung may be getting closer to the Trump administration in the United States over new chip duties. The company may change the head of its North American public affairs unit.
