Asus has announced the launch of three new monitors that feature air purification. These devices not only display images but also purify the surrounding air through ionisation.

Here's What We Know

The new models are more suitable for office users than for gamers.

The monitors are available in three versions:

  • VU249HFI-W with a diagonal of 23.8 in,
  • VU279HFI-W - 27 inches,
  • VU34WCIP-W, which is 34 inches and has a curved 1500R shape.

The first two use IPS panels with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, a refresh rate of 100 Hz and a response time of 1 ms. The VU34WCIP-W has a WQHD resolution (3440x1440 pixels) and supports USB Type-C connectivity.

A unique feature of these monitors is their ability to purify the air. Asus claims that the devices effectively reduce allergens and dust by 90% due to the ionisation of the air that passes through the monitor. Although the monitors do not have a built-in filter, this feature allows you to improve the air quality in the immediate vicinity of the screen.

The packaging of monitors also has a practical solution: it can be reused. Depending on the size of the monitor, the box can be turned into a stand for a smartphone, documents, or even a laptop, making it convenient and environmentally friendly.

ASUS recently announced the ROG Strix OLED XG27UCDMG gaming monitor, which features a 26.5-inch Samsung QD-OLED panel with 4K resolution, 240Hz refresh rate, and 0.03ms response time.
