New details of The Last of Us season two: manipulation of the timeline and more infected

The second season of The Last of Us starts on 13 April on HBO Max, and showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann promise viewers a lot of surprises. The season will adapt some of the events from the second game, but will significantly expand the story, adding new plot twists and emotional moments.
Here's What We Know
As in the first season, the creators of the series plan to change some aspects of the original game to better adapt them for television. According to Mazin, viewers should expect unexpected decisions: "We don't always do what is expected of us. Sometimes we change events or move them to a different context to make the story more dramatic."
Among the key changes are manipulations with the chronology of events, which will allow for a deeper exploration of the characters and their motivations. For example, more attention will be paid to the relationship between Joel and Ellie, as well as the development of new characters such as Dina and Abby.
The second season also promises to increase the role of the infected in the plot. In the first season, their presence was limited, but now the creators plan to show more infected people and reveal the concept of the "cordyceps mind".
"We want to show the risks of interacting with the infected and their interconnectedness," said Mazin.
Since the second game has a much larger plot (over 25 hours of playing time), the second season will cover only a part of the events. This will allow the series to maintain its natural pace and prepare the ground for the third season. The showrunners have already confirmed that the second season will have seven episodes with a "logical break point".
So now we are looking forward to it.
