Microsoft is actively working on its first portable console under the Xbox brand. According to insiders, the device, codenamed Keenan, will be launched in 2025 and will compete with Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch.

Here's What We Know

The Xbox portable console will be the result of Microsoft's cooperation with one of the leading PC gaming manufacturers, such as ASUS or Lenovo. The console will run on Windows, support the Microsoft Store, PC Game Pass, and probably other platforms such as Steam.

According to insider Jez Corden of WindowsCentral, the device will be similar to the Lenovo Legion Go S and will become a kind of testing ground for Microsoft before the launch of the next generation Xbox in 2027.

Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has repeatedly hinted at the company's desire to create a portable console.
