Fans of The Last of Us are once again in anticipation: new rumours suggest that the third part of the game may be in development, despite Neil Druckmann's ambiguous statements.

Recently, Druckmann stated that the possibility of The Last of Us Part 3 release is not so obvious. In a conversation with Variety, he emphasised: "Don't count on a sequel. This may be the end." These words caused concern among fans who were hoping for a new chapter in Ellie's story.
However, according to insider Daniel Richtman, the situation may not be so hopeless. He claims that The Last of Us Part 3 is already in development, and the team has even cast actors for new roles and filmed some scenes. This raises hope that the project is still moving forward.
Currently, Naughty Dog is actively working on a new IP called Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Druckmann noted that the team is focused on this project, but there is a possibility that a smaller group is working on The Last of Us Part 3. This will make it easier to move on to the new part after Intergalactic is completed.
However, for now, this should be taken with a grain of salt.
