Sony has presented a prototype AI version of Eloy, the main character of the Horizon series, which demonstrates the capabilities of artificial intelligence in interaction with players. However, the reaction of the community was mixed.

Here's What We Know

In the leaked video, which was later removed due to a copyright complaint, Eloy talks to the Director of Engineering at Sony Interactive Entertainment. Using OpenAI Whisper for voice recognition and Llama technology for decision-making, the character answers questions and comments on game events. Facial animation was created using Sony's internal Mockingbird system.

Interaction with AI Eloy looks clumsy and inorganic. Players described the demo as "creepy" and "weird", and some even called on Sony to focus on other projects, such as the Bloodborne remaster. In addition, concerns have been raised about the future of the role of voice actors in video games due to the development of AI technologies.

We can only hope that we will not hear voices in games that are created by AI rather than live actors.
