Monster Hunter Wilds earned the most money on PC, despite serious technical problems with the game

Capcom has achieved incredible success with Monster Hunter Wilds, which has become the most popular release of the franchise on PC. However, players face serious technical problems that have caused a wave of criticism.
Here's What We Know
Monster Hunter Wilds, released on 28 February 2025, immediately became the best-selling game in the US and peaked at over 1 million simultaneous players on Steam. The game received high marks for its gameplay and design, but the PC version received a flurry of complaints due to poor optimisation. At the time of writing, the game's Steam rating is only 60% positive. Players report fps drops, freezes, and graphical bugs.
Nevertheless, PC has become the main platform for gaming in the US, which indicates the growth in popularity after the success of World and Rise.
According to an analyst at Circana, dollar sales in the first week were the highest since the debut of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in October last year.
Still, Monster Hunter Wilds remains one of Capcom's most successful releases in recent years.
