Lenovo has unveiled an unusual SSD drive, the release of which is timed to coincide with the premiere of the Chinese film Operation Hadal.

Here's What We Know

Unfortunately, the novelty with a non-standard design will be available only on Chinese marketplaces, but it deserves attention.

Lenovo Legion Tactical Mobile SSD is made in the shape of a grenade and is offered in three variants:

  • an empty aluminium alloy case for $41;
  • a set with collectibles from the film for $55;
  • a 1TB SSD in a case with peripherals for $110.

The cheaper versions can be self-installed with their own SSD.

The case of the device provides a cover with a slide-out panel for tool-free SSD replacement. The $110 variant supports read/write speeds of up to 1,050MB/sec and 1,000MB/sec via USB 3.2 Gen2.

The Tactical Mobile SSD stands 143.2mm tall and weighs 320g. Of course, the device features a stylish RGB backlight, and it comes with two USB-C and USB-A cables.

The SSD is compatible with Windows and macOS.
