Destiny 2 players have unexpectedly gained access to the new Rite of the Nine event, which was supposed to launch on 1 April alongside the third act of Heresy. Due to a technical error, the content became available a few weeks earlier.

Here's What We Know

The Rite of the Nine event was launched earlier than planned by mistake. Players were able to try out new dungeons and get weapons, although most of the items were incomplete - without textures and looking like "stubs". These weapons are updated versions of three dungeons: Prophecy, Spire of the Watcher, and Ghosts of the Deep.

Bungie quickly responded to the situation, saying:

"We are aware of an issue with early access to the Rite of the Nine event. Access to activities will be disabled as soon as possible and all associated rewards will be locked until the official launch."

Rite of the Nine promises to be a significant event for players. Dungeons are one of the most popular PvE activities in the game. The best part is that the event will be free for all players - neither season passes nor The Final Shape expansion pack are required.
