Mike Verdue, former vice president of Netflix Games, has left the company. Verdu was responsible for the launch and development of games on the platform.

Here's What We Know

Verdu joined Netflix in August 2021 with experience at Electronic Arts and Facebook. His main task was to expand the company's gaming business, which included the release of new games for subscribers. However, last year, he changed his role to focus on the implementation of generative artificial intelligence in game development.

However, according to journalist Stephen Totillo, Verdue has now left Netflix entirely.

After the arrival of Alan Taskan, former executive vice president of Epic Games, Netflix started large-scale changes in its gaming department. The company closed the AAA studio Team Blue, which was working on its first major project.

It remains unclear how Verdue's departure will affect the further development of games on the platform and what new strategies will be implemented under Taskan's leadership.
