Pocketpair, the well-known developer of Palworld, recently announced the launch of Pocketpair Publishing, a new division that aims to support indie games. However, Pocketpair's John Buckley warned that the new projects will not be similar to Palworld and that expectations may be too high.

Here's What We Know

Launched at the end of January 2025, Pocketpair Publishing aims to help indie developers realise their ideas through funding and development support. The first project under the new brand will be a new game by Surgent Studios, the creators of Tales of Kenzera, which is scheduled for release in 2025.

Buckley said in his message:

"I'm very nervous about announcing our first series of games. Not because I think the response will be bad (they're all great), but because I'm afraid people will just expect more Palworld."

Buckley stressed that Palworld and Pocketpair Publishing are different projects. He noted that Palworld development will not affect new announcements.

It's worth noting that Pocketpair has already received over 150 applications from developers around the world, which indicates a great deal of interest in their new approach to publishing.
