The creative director of Rise of the Ronin shared his thoughts on how Nintendo Switch 2 will change the state of affairs in the industry
Fumihiko Yasuda, the director of Rise of the Ronin, is closely monitoring new platforms where his games may appear. In an interview with RPG Site, he noted that the Nintendo Switch remains extremely popular in Japan, and therefore he is particularly interested in how the situation will be affected by the release of the next generation console - Switch 2.
Here's What We Know
He also drew attention to the stable popularity of Koei Tecmo games among PlayStation 5 owners. However, in recent years, the Japanese market has seen a rapid increase in the number of PC players, which may affect the studio's further development:
"In terms of consoles, there has been a long-standing situation in Japan where there is a significant number of Switch players, and I am closely watching how this will change with the release of Switch 2. For games like the ones we create, there are many PS5 players, but I also feel that the number of PC players has significantly increased in Japan over the past few years"
Rise of the Ronin, after its release on PlayStation 5 last year, has recently been released on PC. The version for this platform has received improvements, including support for ultra-wide displays, higher resolutions, and increased frame rates. However, critics have pointed out that the port still has technical issues.
Where To Play
Rise of the Ronin is available to play on PC and PlayStation 5.
