Apple may be working on two variants of the next generation Studio Display, according to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman. In addition to the previously mentioned monitor with the codename J427, information about another variant - J527 - has appeared.

Here's What We Know

According to Gurman, the J427 is being developed as a successor to the current Studio Display and is due to appear in 2026. However, the existence of the J527 may indicate that Apple is testing several configurations of the new monitor.

It is not yet known whether the J527 is the third version of the Studio Display or just one of the second-generation prototypes. The journalist suggests that this variant may have a different screen diagonal or changed specifications. He also notes that Pro Display XDR was released in 2019 and may need to be updated.

Based on the codename J527, we can assume that Apple will continue to use a 27-inch screen. However, it is not yet known whether this display will become a separate product or replace the J427.

Gurman also said that Apple also considered making the iPhone 17 Air the first fully wireless smartphone, abandoning USB-C and relying on MagSafe. However, in the end, the company decided to keep the charging port.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the iPhone 17 Air will get some features from the iPhone 16 Pro, including ProMotion and Camera Control. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to be the thinnest iPhone ever, with a thickness of only 5.5 mm. The price of the novelty, according to preliminary data, will be about $900.
