According to a new leak, Xiaomi's next flagship, the Xiaomi 16, will be bigger than its predecessors. The smartphone will have a larger display instead of the 6.36-inch screen used by the Xiaomi 13, 14, and 15 models.

Here's What We Know

Although the official release of the Xiaomi 16 is still more than six months away, the development of the device is actively underway. Early rumours already point to some changes, including the fact that the basic version of Xiaomi 16 will be much larger than the previous ones. A well-known Smart Pikachu insider reports that Xiaomi will increase the size of its flagship this year.

Xiaomi 12 (2021) models started the trend towards compactness with a 6.28-inch display. In the following models, Xiaomi 13, 14, and 15, the display diagonal increased to 6.36 inches, but Xiaomi 16 is rumoured to have an even larger screen.

The display size of the Xiaomi 16 is expected to be around 6.5 inches. According to the sources, this will make the smartphone thinner and lighter, as the larger screen will allow the use of new components that will be arranged horizontally to maintain compactness.

The Xiaomi 16 is expected to replace the traditional 3x zoom lens with an ultra-thin periscope lens.

Given the market trends, such changes are not unexpected. Xiaomi has been actively increasing the size of displays in its devices, and the Xiaomi 16 is likely to be a confirmation of this.

Recently, it became known that a new Xiaomi smartphone with the model number 25053RT47C has passed 3C certification in China.
