The film Mickey 17, directed by the famous Pong Joon-ho, is rumoured to be coming soon to digital platforms. After its release in cinemas on 5 March 2025, Warner Bros plans to release it in online cinemas on 25 March of the same year.

Here's What We Know

Mickey 17 is a sci-fi comedy based on the novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton. The film stars Robert Pattinson in the lead role and also includes Naomi Aki, Stephen Yeun, Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo.

The film's protagonist, Mickey Barnes, finds himself in an unusual situation: he works for an employer who demands maximum dedication to his job - to the point of death. This job makes him a "renewable employee" whose mind is downloaded into a new body after death.

And why should a film be available in digital format just 20 days after its cinema release? The problem is not the biggest box office receipts. The film has now grossed only $90 million, but it needs $270-300 million to be profitable.

However, it's also worth noting that there is no official information, so it should all be taken with scepticism.
