Huawei has released a teaser video of FreeBuds 6, a new model of wireless headphones that will be unveiled on 20 March at the Pura event. The FreeBuds 6 will be the successor to the FreeBuds 5, released in 2023, and will retain the open design characteristic of this series.

Here's What We Know

The charging case has the same shape as the previous model - compact and rounded, similar to a stone. However, it now has a Huawei Sound inscription, indicating the involvement of the company's audio lab in the development of sound. This may indicate improved sound quality and special settings.

Details about the characteristics are not yet known, but improved active noise cancellation (ANC), extended battery life, and new AI-based features are expected.

For comparison, the FreeBuds 5 offered up to 30 hours of battery life, 11mm drivers, three microphones on each earbud, LDAC codec support, and Bluetooth 5.3. In addition, they supported automatic connection to new Huawei smartphones.

FreeBuds 6 is likely to get similar features.

The official presentation will take place on 20 March, and new details may appear before that date.

Recently, it became known that Huawei's HarmonyOS operating system has overtaken iOS in the Chinese market. According to Counterpoint Research, HarmonyOS has a 19% market share, which is two percentage points more than iOS. Android continues to dominate in China with a 64% share in the fourth quarter of 2024.
