According to a study by Barclays analyst Tim Long, Apple's first foldable iPhone could cost around $2,300. The smartphone could become the most expensive iPhone in the company's history.

Here's What We Know

The foldable iPhone can cost $2299, which is almost twice as expensive as the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Its basic version starts at $1199.

Long shared this estimate after a recent trip to Asia, where his team met with component manufacturers. He noted that suppliers are actively discussing the launch of a foldable iPhone between late 2026 and early 2027. However, he said, the high starting price will limit the sales of this device.

Earlier, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the price of a foldable iPhone would range between $2000 and $2500. Many of his colleagues agree that the device is likely to cost at least several thousand dollars.

Kuo believes that demand for the foldable iPhone could remain high if the quality of the device meets expectations, in particular, if the screen does not have noticeable creases.

Kuo also said that the foldable iPhone will have a 7.8-inch internal and 5.5-inch external screen, two rear and one front cameras, a Touch ID button and a large capacity battery. The body will be made of titanium, and the hinge will be made of titanium and steel. Mass production will begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Given that the foldable iPhone is still at least a year and a half away. This price remains indicative.
