Amazon has ordered two seasons of God of War series before the first one was released

Amazon is confident in its upcoming God of War series, having ordered two seasons before the premiere of the first one. This was announced by Ronald D. Moore, known for his work on Battlestar Galactica and For All Mankind, who is currently leading the project.
Here's What We Know
In an interview with The Sackhoff Show, Moore said that he is currently working on adapting the God of War video game for Amazon, and the company has already ordered two seasons. He also admitted that he hasn't played video games since the 80s and is now trying to master modern gamepads, which is causing some difficulties.
Mark Fergus, Hawk Ostby, and Rafe Judkins originally worked on the series, but they left the project in October 2024. Moore then joined the team as a writer, showrunner and executive producer.
The series will adapt the Scandinavian era of the game, starting with the events of 2018. Amazon Studios executive producer Vernon Sanders assured that the series will remain faithful to the original, and the emotional core of the first season will be the story of a father and son.
There is no information yet about the series' release date or the actors who will play the main roles. Given the scale of the project and the order for two seasons, the premiere will clearly not take place before 2026 (or even 2027).
