President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy says that the Ukrainian defence industry has successfully tested a drone capable of flying up to 3,000 km.

Here's What We Know

The President also noted that Ukraine continues to develop a range of long-range drones. The new UAV is capable of striking strategic targets far beyond the frontline, including in Russia.

"I held a meeting today. There were several issues, but the most important thing was drones. All types of drones that are needed. There is good news about long-range drones. Our drone passed the test for 3,000 kilometres. I am grateful to the developers and manufacturers," he wrote.

The creation of a drone with such capabilities can ensure that targets in Russia can be hit almost as far as Novosibirsk. In particular, Russia's largest oil refinery, the Omsk Oil Refinery, will now be within reach.

It should be noted that the exact characteristics and model of the drone have not yet been disclosed. In 2024, The Economist reported on the development of a similar drone. AeroDrone has also been awarded a contract to supply E-300 Enterprise drones, which can cover 3,100 km. However, it is not known whether this is the model in question.

It also became known that Ukraine is planning a large-scale production of long-range UAVs. In 2025, at least 30,000 of these drones are to be produced, as well as 3,000 cruise missiles and drone missiles.
