A little over a year ago, Palworld, the game nicknamed "Pokémon with guns", blew up the internet, reaching over 2 million simultaneous players on Steam. And now, the developers at Pocketpair have released a major update that adds a lot of new features and long-awaited crossplay between all platforms.

Here's What We Know

Crossplay was part of the roadmap that Pocketpair published back in January, where the Palworld team shared their plans for the game's second year. However, at that time, the release date of the crossplay was not announced.

In addition to the crossplay, the update brought a host of new features and improvements to the game, including

  • Global Palbox: a new storage system that allows you to transfer Palms between worlds.
  • Dimensional Palbox: an enlarged storage with 10 times the capacity available for guild members or as personal storage.
  • Cosmetic armour system: the ability to change the appearance of a character without affecting the characteristics of the armour.
  • Photo mode: the ability to take beautiful screenshots by hiding the interface and controlling the camera.
  • Drawing table: the ability to combine low-rare drawings to create higher-rare drawings.
  • Dedicated servers for Mac.

The developers have also made many changes to the game's balance, improved the user interface, added new achievements, and fixed many bugs.

Here are some of the key changes:

  • Changed rewards in item chests.
  • Increased the experience gained for defeating the Attack Chopper.
  • Increased the DPS of flamethrowers.
  • Added the Water attribute to Dumud.
  • Adjustments to NPC rewards.
  • Added the ability to sit on chairs and pillows.

In addition, Palworld Studio is currently working on the "end game scenario" for the game and the upcoming crossover with Terraria.

It is worth reminding that the phenomenal success of Palworld surprised even the developers: they cannot explain the reasons for its popularity.
