After months of rumours, leaks and speculation, Google has unveiled the Pixel 9a, its new budget smartphone that combines powerful features with a reasonable price.

Here's What We Know

The company revealed detailed specifications of the novelty and talked about its key features.

Specifications Google Pixel 9a:

  • dimensions: 154.7×73.2×8.9 mm;
  • display: 6.3", pOLED, 2424×1080, 422 PPI, 60-120 Hz, 2700 nits, Gorilla Glass 3;
  • processor: Google Tensor G4 + Titan M2;
  • sound - stereo speakers;
  • memory: 8GB LPDDR5X RAM, 128GB or 256GB storage depending on the chosen model;
  • cameras: main 48MP, f/1.7, widescreen 13MP, f/2.2; front 13MP, f/2.2;
  • battery capacity: 5100 mAh, 23W wired charging, Qi wireless;
  • OS: Android 15;
  • connectivity: USB-C 3.2, 5G, NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6E, Nano SIM, eSIM, GPS, A-GPS, Galileo.

The Pixel 9a comes in four body colours: Obsidian, Porcelain, Peony, Iris.

The smartphone gets IP68 water and dust resistance, an inbuilt fingerprint scanner, and extensive artificial intelligence features, among which the following can be mentioned:

Photo:

  • Magic Editor: automatically crop, enlarge images and add effects such as falling leaves or green grass;
  • Magic Eraser: remove unwanted objects from photos;
  • Astrophotography: capture the starry sky;
  • Night mode: improved low-light photography;
  • Macro Focus: for the first time in the A-series, allows you to take detailed pictures at close range.

Gemini Assistant:

  • Assists with Google apps such as Maps, Calendar and YouTube;
  • Gemini Live: lets you have natural conversations with AI.

Other features:

  • Automatic photo and video enhancement;
  • smart notifications and recommendations;
  • voice control support to make it easier to interact with your device.

Google promises up to 30 hours of battery life in normal mode and up to 100 hours with Extreme Battery Saver.

The Google Pixel 9a will be available to buy in April for $499. The manufacturer guarantees seven years of updates.
