Balatro's first major update is scheduled for 2025, but the exact date remains uncertain

The developer of the popular poker roguelike game Balatro, known as LocalThunk, plans to release the first major update of the game in 2025. However, the exact release date has not yet been determined.
Here's What We Know
In August 2024, LocalThunk announced plans to release the "first major gameplay update" in 2025, which will bring new ideas and strategies to the game. This update will be free for all players.
During the recent GDC conference Q&A session, Playstack publisher representative Wout van Halderen confirmed that the update is still planned for 2025, but noted: "It will be one of those things that will be ready when it's ready, because it has to be good, not fast."
In a previous interview, LocalThunk described the update as a "1.1" patch that will include a reworking of Joker Matador and various gameplay changes. He refrained from revealing details, saying: "I'm not going to go into detail about what's in it because that also means I can't change direction if something new doesn't work."
So for now, we can only wait.
