PlayStation 5 sales continue to outpace PS4 in the US, with the console becoming the best-selling console last month
According to the latest data from Circana, PlayStation 5 sales in the US continue to outpace PlayStation 4 at a similar stage in its lifecycle. After 52 months on the market, the PS5 has achieved 7% higher sales than the PS4 over the same period. In addition, in February 2025, PS5 became the best-selling console in the United States in terms of both units sold and dollar sales.

Analyst Mat Piscatella noted that after 52 months on the market, PS5 sales are 7% higher than PS4, while Xbox Series X|S sales lag behind Xbox One by 19% over the same period.
These results are quite good considering the PS5's initial supply issues and higher price point compared to the PS4 at a similar stage in its lifecycle.
The PS Portal was again the best-selling accessory last month. Also, thanks to the release of the Midnight Black colour, the black version of the PS Portal was the third best-selling accessory, and the black PS5 DualSense Edge controller was the fifth best-selling.
