Since the announcement Assassin's Creed Shadows has become one of the most scandalous games of the last years: it was hated, accused of distorting the historical accuracy, scolded the developers for the lack of significant innovations, doubted the technical performance and attributed to it all the shortcomings of the previous parts of Assassin's Creed.

Well, today was the release of a new game in the setting of popular Japan, and what do we see? - Not only critics, but also gamers highly appreciate the novelty.

Here's What We Know

Steam users, contrary to numerous skeptical predictions, actively praise Assassin's Creed Shadows. They like the dynamic combat system, not bad stealth mechanics, picturesque locations and a spacious open world.

Among the disadvantages is the problem of almost all modern games - optimisation, but many gamers report that the game works perfectly for them. Shadows may not have the most outstanding plot, but it is not badly furnished and is a sufficient motivator for exploring virtual Japan.

But at the time of writing the game has 82% positive reviews on Steam and peak online has exceeded 35k people, which is great for a Thursday, expect that figure to be much higher this weekend.

Assassinʼs Creed Shadows is available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series and Mac, and has been adapted for the Steam Deck handheld console and has an enhanced version for PS5 Pro.
