Pixar has officially confirmed the development of a sequel to the popular animated film Coco. The release of Coco 2 is scheduled for 2029.

Here's What We Know

The animated film Coco was released in 2017 and won two Academy Awards - for Best Animated Film and Best Song.

The film tells the story of a 12-year-old boy, Miguel, who dreams of becoming a musician despite his family's ban. During the celebration of the Day of the Dead, he finds himself in the Land of the Dead, where he learns the secrets of his family.

The sequel will be directed by Lee Unkrich and Adrian Molina and produced by Mark Nielsen.

The announcement provoked mixed reactions among fans. Some are looking forward to the continuation of their favourite story, while others doubt the need for a sequel, believing that the first film was self-sufficient.
