In a world where turn-based role-playing games are gradually falling by the wayside, French studio Sandfall Interactive has decided to return to the roots of the genre with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. And there is one simple explanation for this desire.

Here's What We Know

The studio's CEO and creative director, Guillaume Broche, admitted that he was "hungry" for new turn-based RPGs, which prompted him to start developing this game back in 2019.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a turn-based role-playing game with real-time combat elements such as QTEs (quick time events) and actions that require precision in both attack and defence.

The story is set in a dark fantasy world inspired by the Belle Époque era, where a group of heroes are trying to stop the mysterious Artist, who is causing people of a certain age to disappear with her drawings.

The game will be released on 24 April 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
