Over half a century, the Golf GTI has gone from experiment to automotive icon, and Volkswagen is preparing a special surprise for fans of "hot hatchbacks" - an anniversary model that will debut during one of the most prestigious endurance races in the world.
Here's What We Know
A special 50th anniversary version of the Golf GTI will be unveiled at the Nürburgring 24-hour race, which will take place from 19-22 June 2025. Although full specifications are being kept secret, it can be assumed that the car will be based on the recently updated Golf GTI Clubsport.
The anniversary model is likely to get unique badging, styling cues that reference the GTI's heritage and distinctive GTI design elements, including chequered seat upholstery and red interior accents.
