During the spring Future Games Show, the developers of Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord announced a new expansion called "War Sails". This expansion introduces sea battles for the first time in the franchise's history. Inspired by the Viking culture, players will be able to command 18 types of ships, take part in naval battles and create an empire at sea.

Here's What We Know

War Sails offers large-scale naval battles where players will control entire fleets and capture enemy ships. Just like with armies on land, players will have to improve their fleets and provide them with the necessary supplies to avoid poor performance or even rebellions. The trailer for the expansion demonstrated the impressive mechanics of naval battles, including various faction colour schemes on soldiers and ships.

In the basic version of Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord, players develop their armies by capturing fortresses and building relationships with various NPCs, such as lords, traders, and robbers. The game has eight main factions, each with their own clans and beliefs.

War Sails will add a new faction, the Nords of the Northern Kingdom, as well as new features, including a stealth system and random events.

When We Can Expect It

The War Sails expansion will be released on 17 June for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
