Zeekr follows BYD in installing autopilot systems on its cars for free

Just a month after China's leading electric car manufacturer BYD announced its new God's Eye driver assistance system, Geely-owned Zeekr has also unveiled a smart driving programme. The novelty will be available at no extra charge for all Zeekr car owners with the right hardware.
Here's What We Know
Zeekr has announced the G-Pilot smart driving system for its cars, which will be offered in several configurations. Owners of already released Zeekr vehicles will receive the system via an over-the-air software update over the coming months.
All versions of the G-Pilot system include:
- General Automated Obstacle Avoidance System (G-AES)
- Intelligent Search and Parking System (V2P)
The G-AES system uses an artificial intelligence model and provides "continuous evasive manoeuvres to avoid unexpected obstacles" at speeds of up to 130 km/h.
Meanwhile, the V2P intelligent parking system allows electric vehicles to automatically search for available parking spaces and park without driver assistance.
The upcoming Zeekr 9X Grand flagship SUV will get an enhanced version of these systems with even more features. The G-Pilot system, which will be fitted as standard on this model, will support Level 3 autonomous driving and will be powered by two Nvidia Drive AGX Thor chips.
Similar to Tesla's driver assistance systems, Zeekr says the G-Pilot feature set will evolve and improve over the life of the electric vehicles. The Level 3 system will also allow the car to autonomously travel from one destination to another without driver intervention.
