Bloomberg: Apple's Vision Pro development chief has taken over as head of Siri development and will personally take charge of accelerating AI integration

It is known that Apple has delayed the integration of AI into the Siri voice assistant in an uncharacteristic manner. Earlier insiders reported that the Apple is behind schedule: no meaningful new AI features in iOS 19 and is forced to reduce the number of major innovations in its systems.
It seems that the resulting situation no longer suits the Apple management and it resorted to personnel reshuffles.
Here's What We Know
Authoritative journalist Bloomberg Mark Gurman reported that this week Apple CEO Tim Cook removed the head of Siri design and development John Giannandrea, replacing him with the former head of the division responsible for the development of mixed reality headset Apple Vision Pro, Mike Rockwell. He has been with the company since 2015 and has proven to be a great leader as he was able to build the development and production of a complex device from the ground up.
According to Gurman, Mike Rockwell has repeatedly criticised colleagues for their approach to Siri development and now he will be able to personally lead the process and accelerate the implementation of AI in the voice assistant. In his new position, Rockwell will report directly to Apple's head of "software" Craig Federighi.
John Giannandrea will remain at Apple and will continue to be involved in research, testing and other processes related to artificial intelligence.
Apple is yet to comment on the changes in its divisions.
