Boeing wins competition to develop 6th generation F-47 fighter jet

The Pentagon has selected Boeing to develop the advanced F-47 fighter jet under the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) programme. This was announced by US President Donald Trump during a live broadcast.
Here's What We Know
Boeing's advanced fighter jet project has beaten competitor Lockheed Martin, which previously won the F-22 and F-35 fighter jet programmes. The Pentagon will therefore sign a contract to build a new fighter jet, investing more than $20 billion.
The F-47 is to be a replacement for the F-22 Raptor, and its development involves integration with UAVs for effective warfare. The design and technical characteristics of the aircraft remain classified, but it is expected to use stealth technologies, advanced sensors and new engines.
Upon completion of the programme, Boeing will receive orders worth hundreds of billions of dollars to supply new fighter jets to the US and international customers. At the same time, the company will continue to supply the US Air Force with the latest version of the F-15AE fighter jet and is preparing to produce T-7 combat trainer aircraft.
Earlier, it was also reported that the Pentagon was considering reducing the cost of the F-47 fighter by reducing its range and payload. This option is not being considered in the future, and the cost of the aircraft is unlikely to exceed the price of the most expensive F-35 models, which is about $100 million.
