Analyst: Astro Bot sales exceed 2.3 million copies - the best game of 2024 shows a great result
The action-adventure platformer Astro Bot has unexpectedly become the highest-rated game of 2024 for many gamers. Its release took place in September and since then neither Sony, nor developers from Team Asobi have not reported the number of sold copies, noting only that they significantly exceed expectations.
Here's What We Know
Analyst Rhys Elliott conducted his own calculations and reported that Astro Bot sales exceeded 2.3 million copies. He came to this conclusion after taking into account an article by Alinea Analytics, which was published on 3 December 2024 and reported a print run of 1.5 million copies, and according to his data, a further 800,000 copies have been sold between that date and 17 March.
Astro Bot has now sold more than 2.3 million copies (it crossed 2M in Jan), as per @alineaanalytics (best data in the games biz).

Note that for a PlayStation 5 exclusive in a niche and almost extinct genre, these results are excellent. In addition, there is no doubt that the game will be released on PC in the future and after such a warm reception on the Japanese console, Astro Bot will surely enjoy great popularity there as well.
