Musk's big plans: he expects to produce 5,000 Optimus robots in 2025, with production reaching 50,000 units in 2026

Tesla is actively ramping up production of its Optimus humanoid robotic assistants, one of which, by the way, will even travel to Mars in 2026.
This is a perfect new direction in the production of consumer goods, which requires huge technological innovations and financial resources, as well as a radical revision of production chains.
But such difficulties do not frighten Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
Here's What We Know
During a meeting with Tesla employees, Musk said that in 2025 he hopes to produce 5,000 Optimus robots, and initially he was counting on 12,000 units, but realised that such a volume is still unattainable.
In his usual eccentric manner, Musk said that 5000 is the number of soldiers in the Roman legion, but how this information applies to his business strategy - it is unknown.
As a reminder, the Optimus prototype was first unveiled in 2022, the robotic assistant was publicly unveiled in October 2024, and Tesla expects to start producing 50,000 Optimus per year in 2026.
