Sony continues its line of smartphones. New rumours confirm that the Xperia 10 VII will be released in 2025, and users can expect significant updates compared to the previous model.

Here's What We Know

In recent years, Sony has reduced the number of its smartphones, and some users have begun to doubt the future of the Xperia line. However, new data gives grounds for the release: The Xperia 10 VII will have more powerful specs, which will keep the interest in this series alive.

The rumours that appeared on the Esato forum mention an OLED display with an updated 120Hz refresh rate. It is worth reminding that its predecessor, the Xperia 10 VI, had only 60 Hz, although the touchscreen technology supported 120 Hz. This means that the new smartphone will have a much smoother interface.

Regarding the processor, sources claim that Sony will not limit itself to the old Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chip used in the Xperia 10 VI. It is possible that the new product will receive a newer chip - Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, although there is a possibility that Sony has chosen the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, which was introduced in June 2024.

Recently, a Chinese insider told Digital Chat Station that Sony is actively working on a new 200-megapixel sensor for the main cameras of its flagship smartphones, which will be released in late 2025. This sensor will be larger than Samsung's existing 1/1.3-inch ISOCELL HP2, which is used in the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
