Google launches Astra camera and screen sharing for Gemini Live on Android

Google has begun to introduce new features for Gemini Live users that have become available thanks to Project Astra. As it was announced at MWC in March, Android devices are already receiving support for such innovations as screen sharing and a live interactive camera.
Here's What We Know
According to the first report, one of the Android users activated the new Gemini interface and saw the "Share Screen with Live" button located next to "Ask about screen". Currently, screen sharing is only available for the entire screen, with no support for individual applications.

There is also a new live camera feature that allows users to interact with the world around them through video. To access this feature, you need to open the full Gemini Live interface and start a video broadcast. The button to switch to the front camera is located in the lower right corner.
These features are not yet available to all users, and Google is gradually rolling them out to Android devices. In particular, a report on the new features came from a Xiaomi phone user who is also a Google One subscriber.
According to Google, Project Astra will be available for Gemini Advanced subscribers and Android device users. In January, Google announced that owners of the Pixel and Galaxy S25 series would be among the first to receive these features. It is unclear when Astra will be available on iPhone, although photo, file, and YouTube video sharing capabilities are not yet available on iOS.
