Yesterday (22 March), the God of War franchise turned 20 years old.

Long before this date it was supposed that Sony will announce a remaster compilation of the original trilogy, dedicated to Kratos' confrontation with the ancient Greek gods, but it never happened.

Insiders are still confident that such a compilation will be released sooner or later, but Jeff Grubb shared another interesting message.

Here's What We Know

The authoritative journalist and insider said that for 2025 Sony is preparing a major release, but it will not be a remaster of the classics, but a completely new spin-off God of War, the action of which is connected with Greek mythology.

OK. Everyone keeps asking about this, so I've tried to find out more: There's still a Greek God of War thing coming out this year, but it's not a remaster collection. It's a new side-story project.

This information completely correlates with the words of Tom Henderson, who earlier reported that a prequel to the original trilogy is in development, the plot of which is set in Greece.

Recall, in honour of the 20th anniversary of the series in God of War: Ragnarok appeared free set of Dark Odyssey armour, as well as planned release of new merchandise.
