Funcom has announced that Dune: Awakening, their massively multiplayer MMO due out on 20 May 2025, will not have an early access phase and will not require a monthly subscription.

Here's What We Know

Dune: Awakening is an open-world game that combines survival and MMO elements. Players will be able to explore the planet Arrakis, fight for control of resources and interact with other participants in a large-scale online world.

The game will not have a monthly subscription fee, but will receive regular free updates with new content and improvements after release. Paid DLC will be available separately or as part of a season pass, but it will not affect the main story.

The game will initially be released on PC only, but will be followed by a release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
