Vivo X Fold 4 may get Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and side fingerprint scanner

Recently, rumours have surfaced that cast doubt on the existence of the Vivo X Fold 4 smartphone or its possible Pro version. A well-known insider at Digital Chat Station (DCS) stated that the only foldable smartphone on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset this year will be the Honor Magic V4.
Here's What We Know
This led to speculation that the Vivo X Fold 4, which could have previously received this particular chipset, was cancelled or would receive a different processor. However, a new insider's disclosure confirmed that the upcoming Vivo X Fold 4 will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, which will debut in 2023.
According to the latest leaks, the new product will be an extremely light and thin foldable smartphone equipped with a 50-megapixel periscopic telephoto camera and wireless charging support. The device is expected to feature a powerful 6000 mAh battery and IPX8 water resistance.
Another important innovation will be a change in the fingerprint scanner: it will now be a side-mounted rather than an ultrasonic sensor under the display.
The choice of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset is probably due to the company's desire to maintain a competitive price without losing flagship characteristics. As noted by Digital Chat Station, the price of the Snapdragon 8 Elite is much higher.
According to preliminary data, Vivo X Fold 4 will have a large AMOLED display with a high refresh rate and minimal bezels. It is also expected to have an improved hinge that will reduce the visibility of the fold on the screen.
According to sources, the Vivo X Fold 4 could be unveiled as early as June this year in China.
