Streamer MrSavage, who has 4 million subscribers on Twitch and is a former professional Fortnite player, has set a new world record by eliminating an opponent in the game while playing on a monitor that was more than 1 kilometre away!

Here's What We Know

On 16 March, MrSavage announced the end of his esports career, and after that he travelled to the harsh Lofoten Islands in Norway to complete this unique challenge. He sat in the snow, trying to eliminate opponents in Fortnite's battle royale mode at different distances before tackling this crazy distance.

After successfully eliminating the first enemy, he gradually increased the distance after each kill, reaching 3m, 15m, and 500m.

At 500m, MrSavage started using binoculars to aim at the monitor. "I can't even believe we're trying this," he said, before making a kill using the screen located on the opposite bank of a large body of water.

The last distance grew to 1161 metres.

After numerous attempts, MrSavage finally eliminated his opponent during the match.

Shortly afterwards, he received a Guinness World Record certificate for the "Longest Elimination in Fortnite Using a Telescope" at 1161 metres.

According to Red Bull, he had to use "the kit required by Guinness World Records: a 32-inch monitor, mouse, keyboard, and a powerful telescope with a zoom of no more than 100x".
