Ten years ago, players first immersed themselves in the terrifying world of Yarnam, where they were greeted by terrifying monsters, a dark atmosphere and merciless difficulty. On 24 March 2015, Bloodborne was released exclusively on PlayStation 4, a game that left an indelible mark on the hearts of millions of players.

What is Bloodborne?

Bloodborne is a soulslike game by FromSoftware, a Japanese studio known for its hardcore Dark Souls games. The game takes us to Victorian Yarnham, a city engulfed in a mysterious epidemic that turns people into bloodthirsty monsters. In the role of the Hunter, players must uncover the secrets of the city, fighting monstrous creatures and unravelling a complex plot.

Why is Bloodborne special?

  • The atmosphere: The gloomy and gothic Yarnam, filled with a sense of horror and danger, creates a unique atmosphere that draws you in from the first minutes.
  • Combat system: A fast and aggressive combat system that emphasises dodging and counterattacks, different from the slower and more tactical combat system of Dark Souls.
  • Level design: Challenging and intricate levels filled with secrets and dangers encourage exploration and reward players for their perseverance.
  • Story: A mysterious and multi-layered story that unfolds through objects and environments, leaving many questions and interpretations.

Why do players love Bloodborne so much?

  • Challenge: The game offers a high level of difficulty that requires players to be patient, persistent, and strategically minded.
  • Sense of achievement: Defeating challenging bosses and completing difficult areas of the game brings an incredible sense of satisfaction and achievement.
Replayability: Many secrets and character development options allow you to play the game more than once.

What do players want?

Most of all, players want at least a remaster for PlayStation 5 to play at 60 fps and a port to PC. However, Sony is in no hurry with this and often pretends that the game does not exist. However, hope dies last.
