Recent reports that the upcoming Silent Hill f game has been "refused classification" in Australia have proven to be false. The Australian Classification Board (ACB) has officially denied this information, reassuring fans of the series.

Here's What We Know

In a statement provided to the gaming website Stevivor, it is reported that the entry for Silent Hill f, published on 14 March 2025, has been removed from the database. "Silent Hill F is not currently classified as a 'Refused Classification' in Australia," the ACB said. "The entry in the National Classification Database has been removed. The classification decision will be published on the National Classification Database prior to the game's release."

Stevivor notes that this entry may have been the result of an error in the self-reporting tool used by the ACB.

As IGN explains, this tool is managed by the International Age Rating Coalition (IARC). The IARC tool requires developers to fill out an online questionnaire about the game, after which the tool automatically provides a rating for participating countries. According to IGN, this rating is published "automatically" in the ACB National Classification Database.

As a reminder, the game received an 18+ rating in Japan, becoming the first game in the franchise to receive such a rating. And considering the mistake in Australia, perhaps the game will be allowed on the continent with kangaroos.
