Apple has announced that it will release a software update for the AirPods Max headphones with USB-C connector in April, bringing support for Lossless audio and ultra-low latency audio.
Here's What's New About It
- Lossless audio: After the update, AirPods Max will be able to play audio in 24-bit/48kHz format, preserving the original quality of recordings and allowing users to hear music the way the artist intended it to be heard
- Personalised Spatial Audio: Lossless support extends to the Personalised Spatial Audio feature, providing a more accurate and rich audio experience.
- Ultra-low latency: The update will reduce audio latency, which is especially important for musicians when creating and mixing tracks, as well as for gamers and streamers, providing a smoother, more responsive audio stream
Additional details:
- Compatibility: The update will be available for AirPods Max with USB-C connector and will be released simultaneously with iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4 and macOS Sequoia 15.4
- Accessories: Apple has also introduced a USB-C to 3.5mm cable that will allow the headphones to connect to audio sources with a matching connector. The cable will cost $39.
