John Buckley, Director of Communications at Pocketpair, recently discussed the possibility of Palworld coming to Nintendo Switch 2. Despite previous legal issues with Nintendo, Buckley noted that the studio would consider porting the game to the new console if it was powerful enough to run it.

Here's What We Know

In a conversation at GDC 2025, Buckley explained that the technical limitations of the original Nintendo Switch were the main reason why Palworld was not released on this platform. Calling the game "difficult", he noted that if the Switch had the necessary characteristics, the game would definitely be released on it.

However, Pocketpair is still waiting to receive development hardware for the Switch 2, so the studio cannot yet assess whether the console will be able to support the game. Buckley said: "We haven't seen those specs yet... Hopefully, someone will tell me about it soon."

Despite the fact that Palworld has been optimised for Steam Deck, Buckley stressed that the hardware must be powerful enough to run the game smoothly. "If the console is powerful enough, we will definitely consider it," he added.

Where To Play

The game is available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series.
