Samsung Display, a leading supplier of display panels for various devices including smartphones, TVs and monitors, has announced plans to increase its QD-OLED monitor panel shipments by 50 per cent in 2025. Shipments are expected to reach 1.43 million units, underlining the company's commitment to strengthen its market position.

Here's What We Know

To achieve this goal, Samsung Display has introduced new products including 27-inch 4K panel with 160 PPI pixel density, which is a record for OLED panels of this size. It also plans to mass produce 27-inch QHD panel with 500Hz refresh rate, making it one of the most advanced on the market.

According to research firm Omdia, Samsung Display holds 71.2 per cent of the global OLED monitor panel market, largely due to the success of QD-OLED technology.

The growth in OLED monitor panel shipments is impressive, rising from 8,300 units in 2021 to over 820,000 units in 2023. This demonstrates the significant market potential that Samsung Display intends to fully utilise.
