Apple Watch pressure measurement feature delayed due to technical issues - Bloomberg

Apple is still working on implementing blood pressure monitoring in the Apple Watch, but testing of this feature is not going as smoothly as it would like. This is reported by Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman in his latest issue of Power On.
Here's What We Know
Gurman first reported on Apple's plans to measure pressure back in 2022. In November 2023, he noted that the initial version of the feature would not be able to show the exact level of pressure, but Apple was working on an update that would allow it in the future.
This feature was expected to appear in the Apple Watch Series 10, but it did not happen. According to Gourmet, Apple is developing technology that will track changes in pressure and warn the user about possible hypertension. In case of such a notification, the Apple Watch owner will be able to consult a doctor for a more accurate diagnosis.
Hypertension is dangerous because in the early stages it can go without symptoms, which increases the risk of serious heart problems. Therefore, the introduction of such a feature could significantly improve the ability to screen for this condition early and help save lives.
Back in December 2024, Gurman reported that Apple was actively working on the implementation of this feature and that it could appear as early as 2025. However, according to the latest data, the launch may be postponed indefinitely.
It is worth reminding that Apple has abandoned the idea of releasing the Apple Watch SE in a plastic case.
